It's been a rough year, give a big hug to your loved ones. You never know how many of those you still have time for, but it's probably not enough.
Looking ahead, work is starting on "DREAMERS" and "SUNSET PARK". Very different genres, and while I'd love to tell you more, I'm going to have to hold back for awhile. I will say, Dreamers is science fiction, spanning from the 1950's to 100 or so years into the future. And Sunset Park is not about vampires.
Depending on about a million things to not go wrong, I'm shooting a documentary in May. Think Discovery channel stuff. Or maybe Animal Planet, I don't know, I haven't seen Discovery Channel in a decade or so, and it's changed a lot, I hear.
Also, some painting. There's this kinda neat process where, instead of framing prints, they get bonded to the back of a pane of glass. Exploring that, and some large format screen printing, something I did well in the 90's and early 00's, that Mondo seems to be single handedly making cool again.
So, expect some random stuff in the next few months, I'll try to have a bit more of a presence online.

Infected #1 of 5
Infected #1 hits the shelves today. Just downloaded a digital copy from comixology, it looks pretty damn good! You may need an app for your iPhone/iPad or Android device, but it's pixel perfect on my computer screen! Thanks to Scott Sigler, Bob Pendarvis for serving as editor, and the guys at IDW(especially Tom Waltz) for putting up with my whinging and getting the book out there! Order the digital copy here: http://www.comixology.com/Infected/comics-series/8243
If you get a floppy copy, thank you, and I promise I will sign every copy anyone ever puts in front of me, anywhere, anytime. Seriously, you see me pop into a bathroom stall at the
Devious Journal Entry
The page analysis of the five page prologue to the graphic novel is finished.
Still sort of finding my way in terms of explaining things, the analysis is more about what was going through my mind than the mechanics of it on paper. Why did I take five pages in a comic to cover what was only two pages in a novel and why was it so important? Why did I alter the story there, but almost nowhere else in the book? Why did I pace it the way I did, why those panel layouts, why those gutter sizes, why why why?
Anyway, if you have an interest in making comics or want to read the "director commentary" to Scott Sigler's Infected, go give it a read.
Analyzing my work on Scott Sigler's Infected
I'm starting a sort of page by page analysis of my work on Sigler's graphic novel over at my blog.
My take on the written story, how I try and tell it visually, art style, layouts, technical things. Sort of a director commentary for a comic book with behind the scenes images. Some of the art is posted here on my deviant page, some of it will only be at the blog.
Check it out, feel free to ask questions or criticize.

The Protagonist Brain
Part three of my "mission statement" is up over at the blog. The three part post, "The Protagonist Brain", covers a little of everything, some philosophy behind my thinking, the guts of communication, and the gears under the hood of comic making. Give it a read if you get a chance!

Good advice on not taking time for loved ones for granted. You never know when the last chance to be with someone will be.
As for the art stuff...looking forward to seeing some random stuff.
